China's top advisory body preparing for annual session

BEIJING, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- The chairman and vice chairpersons of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) met Tuesday to prepare for the upcoming fifth annual session.
At the meeting, the participants examined and approved a list of executive chairpersons for the plenary meetings during the Fifth Session of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, according to a statement released after the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
The CPPCC National Committee's annual session usually opens in early March.
The meeting also examined and approved a draft list of additional members for the 11th CPPCC National Committee. The draft will be submitted to the 16th session of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, which will be held in late February, for further examination.
At the meeting, Jia called for better preparations for the annual session to ensure its success.
