Apple is still developing a HomePod and Apple TV hybrid product
There is no doubt that Apple spends a lot of money on research and development. Earlier there were reports that Apple is developing a HomePod and Apple TV hybrid product that will be equipped with a screen and camera for FaceTime. Although we haven't heard more since this news appeared in the newspapers, it seems that Apple's hybrid products are still under development.
HomePod and Apple TV hybrid products are still under development. The news comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gulman, who reiterated that Apple’s new device will accommodate a built-in screen and a camera for FaceTime calls. The report indicates that Apple TV4K received a small update last month because the company is working on a larger upgrade.
According to Bloomberg News, as part of its broader home, audio and accessories strategy, Apple has also begun early development of HomePod speakers with built-in screens, as well as devices that combine HomePod, FaceTime cameras and Apple TV functions. Competition for speakers with screens has become common. Apple released a HomePod mini speaker last year and outlined a minor update to Apple TV 4K last month. Mark Gullman also said in the past few months that the iPhone manufacturer may launch a device that will use high-end HomePod speakers and connect to an iPad through a robotic arm. The robotic arm will be responsible for following the user around the room.
When we look forward to the HomePod update next year, Apple discontinued the original HomePod. It is possible that the company is now only focusing on the upcoming HomePod and Apple TV hybrid devices. Mark Gullman recently stated that Apple is committed to launching AirPods 3 later this year, and AirPods Pro 2 will be launched in 2022.
