NINGBO, Zhejiang, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Ministers of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) met Sunday morning for talks on trilateral cooperation in Ningbo of east China's Zhejiang province.
The meeting, chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, was also attended by Yang's Japanese counterpart Koichiro Gemba and ROK counterpart Kim Sung-hwan.
A Chinese Foreign Ministry official said earlier that the meeting would focus on developments and the future direction of cooperation between the three nations, and preparations for the fifth trilateral meeting among leaders of China, Japan and ROK.
The trilateral summit is expected to be held in Beijing next month, said Yang Jian, deputy director-general of the Chinese Foreign Ministry's Department of Asian Affairs.
China hoped that the three sides would hold in-depth discussions during Sunday's meeting on how to further liberalize and facilitate trade and investment, enhance cooperation on finance, energy, technology and disaster relief among other areas, and realize sustainable development in the three nations, said the official.
