It's her sixth birthday today and Suri Cruise made sure to celebrate it in style.

The tiny tot stepped out with her mother Katie Holmes wearing a cute candy-striped pink spring dress.

Famous for a penchant for high heels, the little fashionista opted for silver ballet flats for her big day.

She brought along her favourite purple blankie for her day out as well as a carefully selected soft toy.

Katie, 33, also dressed in a spring style and slipped her statuesque figure into a sheer white maxi dress and wore a khaki army-style lightweight coat over the top.

The mother and daughter duo were seen leaving an office building and no doubt on their way to celebrate Suri's milestone.

The tot's father Tom Cruise was not present for the outing. He is currently filming his new movie in Louisiana.

Last night the pair arrived back from New Orleans into New York, and Suri had decided she was in the mood for a sweet treat.

She enjoyed an ice cream cone despite the late hour, perhaps as an early birthday present.
