Though there is much optimism at the Beijing Auto Show, which began in the Chinese capital yesterday, there are some signs pointing to troubled times ahead in the future in China for luxury car brands that are priced high. Luxury car brands from all over the world are assembled there to dig into China’s voracious appetite for cars like the luxury brands from big names like Volkswagen, BMW and Ford Motor Company.
Brands from all over the world like Cadillac, BMW and Mercedes are attempting to forget the sluggish growth in markets like the United States of America and Europe and survive by promoting their luxury brands in China. To achieve success, car companies worldwide have to possess a luxury brand that can be marketed on a worldwide basis to compete in all regions.
Toyota Motor Corporation is trying to lace up its Lexus luxury brand. It has launched an entry sedan, the ES250, with a focus on the Chinese market. It has been created fuel-efficient. It has a smaller engine than the ES350 model. Its rear seats have also been made bigger to comply with exclusive demands of the Chinese consumers. Toyota feels that this brand will pump up the size of its retail stores considerably in this year.
