[Global Times Comprehensive Report] The Russian RT News Network reported on May 24 that the British Ministry of Defense spent 3.2 billion pounds (approximately US$4.5 billion) to purchase a tank that could not shoot while driving. The RT News Network quoted a report from The Times that Britain spent 3.2 billion pounds on the purchase of the "Ajax" heavy armored fighting vehicle, which was too noisy to fire while driving. General Dynamics won the contract in 2014 to build 589 "Ajax" armored vehicles for the British Army. This is the UK's largest single armored vehicle procurement project in the past 30 years. However, a recent report in The Times revealed that technical experts found many "safety problems" in the tank, including excessive noise inside the vehicle and the inability to fire while driving due to excessive vibration.
